The Romanian Embassy in Italy has organized, together with the “Dimitrie Gusti” National Village Museum, the exhibition “Romania-Italy: The Art of Embroidery and Ceramics, Heritage of Humanity”, hosted by the Hall of Honour of the Museum of Civilizations in Rome, from June 18th to July 14th, 2024.
In the presence of an enthusiastic audience, in an atmosphere filled with spirituality, speeches were delivered by Mrs. Gabriela Dancău, Romania’s Ambassador in Italy, Mr. Federico Mollicone, President of the Culture Commission of the Italian Chamber of Deputies, Mrs. Paula Popoiu, General Manager of the “Dimitrie Gusti” National Village Museum, the moderator of the event being Mr. Andrea Viliani, Director of the host institution.
The officials in attendance unveiled and signed the special philatelic panel dedicated to the exhibition, which has as its centrepiece the cover bearing the title of the exhibition, along with images of folk costumes from Buzău and Dolj, Abruzzo and Tuscany, ceramics from Horezu, Vâlcea and Piemonte, Italy.
Romfilatelia participated with an exhibition of philatelic panels dedicated to the Romanian blouse (ia) and ceramics, customs and traditions of the Romanian people.
In his speech, Romfilatelia’s General Manager stated, “The postage stamp has proudly travelled through time as an ambassador of Romanian values and traditions with images of Romania’s outstanding personalities.
Romfilatelia thanked Ambassador Gabriela Dancău for the invitation and congratulated the organizers for the exhibition.

Romanian postage stamps, the bearers of Romanian traditions and customs, have once again arrived in the heart of Rome and will bring back home to Romania dear, moving memories from Rome.
