In the cultural space of the Romanian Athenaeum took place the event dedicated to the anniversary of the Court of Accounts of Romania, in the presence of H.E. Klaus Werner Iohannis, President of Romania, Nicolae-Ionel Ciucă, President of the Senate, Vasile-Daniel Suciu, President of the Chamber of Deputies, Ion-Marcel Ciolacu, Prime Minister, Mihai Busuioc, President of the celebrated institution, members of the Parliament, the Government, the Romanian Academy, the Courts of Accounts in the country and international organizations of which the supreme audit institution is a member, the diplomatic corps accredited in Bucharest, the media.
Romfilatelia presented the special philatelic panel marking the 160th anniversary of the establishment of the Court of Accounts of Romania, illustrating in its graphics a brief history of the institution: a representative image of its founder, Alexandru Ioan Cuza, together with a facsimile of the Official Gazette representing the act and the year of its establishment, and a medallion portrait of one of its most representative presidents, George Lahovary, an active presence also at the first institution of the Post and Telegraph, signatory of the act of establishment of the Universal Postal Union in 1874, of which Romania was a founding member.
On this occasion, Romfilatelia, in collaboration with the National Institute for Research-Development in Informatics – ICI Bucharest launched the collection of NFTs entitled “Guardians of Accountability: The Legacy of the Romanian Court of Accounts”, as a concrete congratulatory message inscribed in the images of the postage stamps dedicated to a leading institution in Romania.
