Continuous supporter of projects and initiatives promoting bilateral diplomatic relations, common values and symbols with other cultures and peoples, Romfilatelia received at its headquarters, on Tuesday, August 23rd, 2022, the visit of Mrs. Adina Lovin, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. at the Embassy of Romania to the Holy See, who also represents Romania in the Sovereign Order of Malta.
In the context of discussing bilateral philatelic projects, the topic of the meeting was the celebration of 90 years of diplomatic relations between Romania and the Sovereign Order of Malta“, an event that will be marked by a joint philatelic issue on Friday, September 16th, 2022.
The meeting was also a pleasant opportunity to recall the day of Wednesday, May 22nd, 2019, when, during the General Audience in the Vatican, Pope Francis met an official delegation from Romania. At the end of the general audience, Pope Francis passed by and greeted the Romanian delegation, on which occasion representatives of Romfilatelia and the Vatican Philatelic and Numismatic Office, in the presence of representatives of the Romanian Embassy to the Holy See, presented to the Holy Father the layout of the Romania-Vatican joint philatelic issue dedicated to the apostolic journey of His Holiness to Romania, introduced into circulation on May 31st, 2019, the first day of the apostolic visit.
