Continuous supporter of projects and initiatives promoting bilateral diplomatic relations, common values and symbols with other cultures and peoples, Romfilatelia received at its headquarters, on Tuesday, January 18th, 2022, the visit of His Excellency, Mister Roberto Musneci, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sovereign Order of Malta in Romania.
In the context of discussing bilateral philatelic projects, the subject of the meeting was the celebration of 90 years of diplomatic relations between Romania and the Sovereign Order of Malta, an event that will be marked by a joint philatelic issue this year.
During the meeting, there was a pleasant retrospective of the joint issue of postage stamps with the theme of Christianity and Heraldry, created in 2012, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
His Excellency appreciated the Romanian postage stamps, the experience and the involvement of Romfilatelia in the development of dialogue relations and the exchange of ideas, and the steps related to the joint philatelic project will be started. At the same time, he had the kindness to add a few words to the society’s book of honour: “A very interesting meeting with President Popescu to show views on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Romania and the Sovereign Order Of Malta”.
Photos taken during the meeting complete this moment spent under the sign of public diplomacy, culture and exchange of ideas.
This visit took place in compliance with the rules of social distancing and other preventive measures during the Covid-19 pandemic.
