Romfilatelia was present today in the Aula of the Romanian Academy where, in a solemn atmosphere, the Jacques Elias (1844 – 1923) Memorial Session took place.
To honour the memory of Jacques Elias, in the framework of the institutional partnership agreed with the Romanian Academy, Romfilatelia was invited to launch a philatelic product dedicated to his illustrious personality, a panel equipped with the postal stationery and a special philatelic album, “Jacques Menachem Elias, a symbol of generosity and love for fellow human beings”.
Academician Maya Simionescu, the conference moderator, invited to present speeches by: Acad. Ioan-Aurel Pop, President of the Romanian Academy, Amir Sagron, Deputy Ambassador of Israel to Romania, Acad. Mugur Isărescu, Governor of the National Bank of Romania, Acad. Gabriela Marinoschi, President of the Menachem H. Elias Family Foundation, Dr. Irina Cajal-Marin, Director and Delegate Administrator of the Menachem H. Elias Family Foundation. Dr. Nicolae Popa, Prof. Dr. Felicia Waldman, Mrs. Cristina Popescu, CEO of Romfilatelia, Cantor Emanuel Pusztai and Ioan Pavăl, Mayor of Dumbrăveni.
The end of the event was marked by the “Madrigal – Marin Constantin” National Chamber Choir.
Romfilatelia remains rooted in Romanian culture and continues to honour its ancestors by affirming their role in nation building.
