Romfilatelia launched today a new issue of postage stamps entitled ”Collections. House of the artist”, consisting of 4 postage stamps and a First Day Cover. The works reproduced on the postage stamps, together with the entire creation of Alexandru Țipoia, can be found in the house where the artist lived and created, which has now become a memorial house – museum, through the care of his son, George Tzipoia, an artist of recognized complexity.
Invited to the event, Acad. Georgeta Filitti, in front of the guests, friends and collectors, pointed out that the presence of a work or the artist’s image on a stamp “is a wise form of advertising that lasts. The work must be promoted to the masses. Or what you have done is part of this normality of the culture of a European country. That is why we pay tribute to the Tzipoia family for this effort”, adding immediately that “Romfilatelia took the initiative. This very beautiful collection illustrated on stamps is expressive and has something related to deep Romania”.
The critic Pavel Șușară also evoked the complex personality of the creator considered the fourth spiritual pillar of Romanian art that supports the “architecture of the image” of the 20th century, alongside Alexandru Ciucurencu, Corneliu Baba and Ion Țuculescu. The well-known art critic stressed that “the philatelic product presented today is an act of culture, not of reflection – more than an art album, more than any conference, more than any video documentary. A product of this kind has an enormous circulation and it somehow does not only compel participation, but it discreetly and with extremely subtle means of persuasion, compels participation. Whoever holds a stamp in his hand does not intend to see Țipoia, but the image of the work will remain in his mind and he will pass it on either as a postal product or as a collectible product”.
The portrait was completed by George Tzipoia, the host of this heartfelt meeting.
Through everything it does, Romfilatelia stops the moment in immortality. To send it to eternity with a message about dedication, about talent, about love, about the verticality of conscience. Because Romfilatelia is present where things are done to the superlative, to the absolute, to the highest level of exigency. Otherwise, history does not remember them.
And when the house we are referring to belongs to the painter Alexandru Țipoia, whose family tree can be traced back several centuries, you understand why the artist is the sensitive conscience of the world. His house connects with the land and with history, carrying with it not only evidence of the past, but also of the verticality of the creator, of his philosophical involvement, of duty…
Because just like our lives, houses are stardust. And just like us, they have their own life, their own story, a whole history that they can hoard to shape, again and again, another life, another personality, another work. They are not just the echo of a time, but the remnant of it, carrying a double burden – of the time that created them and the life they protected, in turn a fragment that tells its story…
Which is also the case here, a house of exuberance, of perfect good taste, which has given us a dynasty, we can say, of established artists.
Romfilatelia remains a promoter of the cultural and historical values of Romanians, and the postal mark a true messenger of the national brand.
