Today, at St. Joseph’s Cathedral in the capital, a solemn Holy Mass of thanksgiving was celebrated for the 25 years of episcopacy of the Shepherd of the Archdiocese, His Eminence Aurel Percă.
Monsignor Aurel Percă was appointed on September 29th, 1999, by His Holiness Pope John Paul II, as the Auxiliary Bishop for the Diocese of Iași and titular of Mauriana, receiving episcopal consecration on December 8th, 1999, at the new Cathedral in Iași.
On November 21st, 2019, Pope Francis appointed him Archbishop Metropolitan of Bucharest, and on August 8th, 2020, His Eminence Aurel Percă received the pallium at the Metropolitan Cathedral in Bucharest, from Monsignor Miguel Maury Buendia, Apostolic Nuncio to Romania.
On the occasion of the Jubilee, Archbishop Giampiero Gloder, the Apostolic Nuncio to Romania, read a message from His Holiness Pope Francis, appreciating the 25 years of episcopacy of His Eminence Aurel Percă.
Cristina Popescu, General Manager of Romfilatelia, invited to attend this solemn event, conveyed her wishes of health and gratitude to His Eminence Aurel Percă for the beautiful institutional collaboration, hoping that their joint projects to promote universal spiritual values will continue.
