Romania and the United States of America laid the foundations of the bilateral relationship at a time when both were in a major process of modernization of values, under the leadership of two remarkable personalities, Prince Carol I of Hohenzollern – Sigmaringen and Rutheford B. Hayes (the 19th President of the United States of America).In an enthusiastic atmosphere, together with partners, allies, collaborators and friends, the US Ambassador praised the collaboration with the strategic partner, Romania, in various fields, including culture:
“As allies and partners, the United States and Romania cooperate in many spheres, including in economics and culture. For this year’s Independence Day reception, we have chosen to celebrate our cooperation in the world of film, a medium through which we share our stories, dreams and values,” said H.E. Ms. Kathleen Ann Kavalec, U.S. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Romania.
In 2015, Romfilatelia introduced into circulation the issue entitled “135 years of diplomatic relations Romania – USA”, and on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, in 2020 Romfilatelia introduced into circulation the anniversary postal stationary.
