Bucharest, June 7th, 2022
Steaua Bucharest, a historical club for Romania, with an impressive track record, has given throughout history thousands of high performance athletes who have put the country on the world map.
Romfilatelia joined the organizers at the anniversary event, by creating the philatelic panel “Steaua, 75 years from its foundation”, launched on the legendary stadium in Ghencea Boulevard.
In her speech, Cristina Popescu, General Manager of Romfilatelia, mentioned that the athletes of Steaua Bucharest Club have been honoured over the years by Romanian philately, evoking values such as Iolanda Balaș, Ilie Năstase, Cristian Gațu, Petru-Paul Ciobănelu, Nicu Vlad, Gheorghe Hagi, Helmut Duckadam, Camelia Potec, Ana-Maria Popescu, Marian Drăgulescu, Simona Radiș.
The anniversary philatelic panel was unveiled and signed by Vasile Dîncu, Minister of National Defence, Eduard Novak, Minister of Sports, Eduard Bachide, Secretary of State in the Ministry of National Defence, Mihai Covaliu, President of the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee, Colonel Răzvan Ștefan Bichir, President of CSA Steaua Bucharest.
There were present current and former Olympic, world and European champions of the Bucharest club, former leaders of the sports group, guests and an enthusiastic public.
