Europe Day started with the inauguration of the event “Bucharest Horticulture Days”, hosted by the Gardens of the Romanian Senate from May 9th to 12th and organized under the High Patronage of Her Majesty Margareta, Custodian of the Romanian Crown and under the symbol of the Peony, officially declared National Flower of Romania by Law 285/22.10.2022, adopted by the Romanian Parliament, at the initiative of the Faculty of Horticulture in Bucharest.
At the 20th edition of this colourful and inspiring horticultural event, the general public can admire flowers and ornamental plants, and the program includes themed exhibitions, practical demonstrations, as well as workshops and educational and fun activities for the whole family.
Romfilatelia was invited to join the event, where it exhibited a special philatelic panel dedicated to the Romanian peony.
Among the attractions of the program, we mention “The Gardens of the Senate – a Uranus Memorial” – project presentation and guided tour, “Flower Stories. Flowers in stamps” – a surprising floral history through artistic floral stamps, planting and tree identification workshops.
We also mention the events “Digitalization in fruit growing”, “Flowers for Father’s Day” – workshop for children.
Bucharest, transformed into a true city of nature and a celebration of flowers, invites you to visit the gardens of the Romanian Senate.
Romfilatelia would like to thank the Romanian Senate for the traditional collaboration in the service of the Romanian postage stamp, a state symbol and an element of national identity, and congratulates the organizers for a colourful and fragrant event held in Bucharest, a European city.
Happy Anniversary, Europe!
